"Jesus Rifles"
The U.S. military has entrusted the company "Trijicon" with making scopes for its rifles used in combat. The company has been putting coded text references from the Bible next to the serial numbers. It can be dangerous since the USA is trying ot prove that it's not fighting a "holy war" against the Middle East. U.S. military personnel is not allowed to proselytise over there. There is also the separation of church and state that doesn't allow religion to be forced on anyone.
The company was founded by a devout Christian who died in 2003.

The Trijicon scopes use tritium, a radioactive material that glows in the dark, allowing them to be very useful in low light situations. When shooters in hostile conditions need to align their sights quickly on target, they use these glow in the dark sights so they can shoot fast and accurately before the bad guys can get them.
Tritium was used on the minute hand of watches to that one can tell the time in the dark.
The bible verses cited on the rifle sites are very grossly misapplied here. I understand that the founder of Trijicon was a Christian, but it was just wrong for him to put such bible verses on these scopes. They are dreadful plays on words in light of what the scopes are designed to do.

The Trijicon sites are the best sites in the world for what Special Forces do. There is no competition for Trijicon where this is concerned.
During the early days of the American Civil War, the Virginia Military Institute provided four cannon to support General Thomas Jackson's 1st Brigade of the Army of Virginia. The cannon were nicknamed Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. When the order came to fire, the command was given, "Colonel, spread the gospel."
