Wanting to go to New York City

I have been wanting to go to New York City for quite a while now.  The last time I went there was in 2005. I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  It was lovely.  I spent four and a half hours looking at artworks of various kinds.  I saw Korean art, Mayan relics, old musical instruments, and much more. I wish I got to see everything.  Later I went back to NYC and saw the American Museum of Natural History.  It was a fun day.
I was hoping to get there when I returned from Korea in 2006.  Thankfully I did get to go to a Broadway play with my family.  That was a good time.
Last Christmastime I tried to go there again, but everyone I knew was too busy to go there with me.
Now, I am hoping to get there soon. I really want to go back to Manhattan and see the museums and Central Park again.

Here are some things that are coming up:
The Morgan Library is having an exhibit on A Christmas Carol and Mozart's original music.
The Museum of Modern Art will have an exhibit that includes Pollock's works.

While an undergraduate student at Andrews University I took a poetry class. I studied some of A.E. Stallings' poetry. She studied lots of classical poetry and literature of Greece. She does translation of poetry from Greek to English. An interesting thing she said was that when she was at university to study ancient, Greek poetry, she came across some poems that described early springtime flowers such as hyacinths blooming at the same time as later spring flowers. She interpreted that as a "golden age". She was later surprised when visiting the Greek countryside and finding those flowers blooming at the same time . She said that sometimes we do have to take things literally. This poem gave me the chills when I first read it. It is so deep and dark. So, I haven't been posting lately. I have been busy working on my Master's Degree in English and a Master's Certificate in Human Rights. I have been enjoying my studies overall. I have been challenged a lot by studying Chaucer this semester (hey, that guy lived six hundred years ago).  I hope to get at least a B in that class. I worked on my degree last summer, taking one class over Summer Session I and two over Summer Session II to get things done and over with.  I got an A and two A- grades.  I have been trying to stay afloat with this semester. I ended up with one late paper for Chaucer due to my factory job I had at the time and time management.  I ended up losing a letter grade, which made me upset. I decided that I have had enough of Facebook. I have been contemplating deleting my account.  I have already deleted my Twitter at least a year ago.  I also don't have Pinterest or Instagram.  I know that I use Facebook too much.
