Snow storm before November

I have seen snow in October a few times.  The snow wasn't much and didn't last long. It was beautiful to see snow on autumn leaves. I do remember seeing that phenomenon while living on a college campus in Massachusetts. I took a few photos of it.
Last Saturday, October 29, I was able to see snow in October again. This time it was a big blizzard.  October blizzards are very rare.  In fact, the first blizzards don't usually start until December, with the first snow falls starting around Thanksgiving.
This snow storm gave half a foot of snow in my area.  Some other places had more than one foot, others up to 17 inches.
My family's house only lost power for 4 hours.  Unfortunately, some people are still without power and should be without it for a few more days.  The storm is also blamed for 12 deaths.

While an undergraduate student at Andrews University I took a poetry class. I studied some of A.E. Stallings' poetry. She studied lots of classical poetry and literature of Greece. She does translation of poetry from Greek to English. An interesting thing she said was that when she was at university to study ancient, Greek poetry, she came across some poems that described early springtime flowers such as hyacinths blooming at the same time as later spring flowers. She interpreted that as a "golden age". She was later surprised when visiting the Greek countryside and finding those flowers blooming at the same time . She said that sometimes we do have to take things literally. This poem gave me the chills when I first read it. It is so deep and dark. So, I haven't been posting lately. I have been busy working on my Master's Degree in English and a Master's Certificate in Human Rights. I have been enjoying my studies overall. I have been challenged a lot by studying Chaucer this semester (hey, that guy lived six hundred years ago).  I hope to get at least a B in that class. I worked on my degree last summer, taking one class over Summer Session I and two over Summer Session II to get things done and over with.  I got an A and two A- grades.  I have been trying to stay afloat with this semester. I ended up with one late paper for Chaucer due to my factory job I had at the time and time management.  I ended up losing a letter grade, which made me upset. I decided that I have had enough of Facebook. I have been contemplating deleting my account.  I have already deleted my Twitter at least a year ago.  I also don't have Pinterest or Instagram.  I know that I use Facebook too much.
