A Day at the Resort

I went to the Vivaldi Resort yesterday with other faculty from the high school. I had the choice to either go skiing or swimming. I chose to go swimming. I didn't have a swimsuit so I went to buy one on Monday night. At Lotte Mart I found a funky 4-piece white swimsuit with black and gold designs on it. It is a bikini that comes with a tank top and a skirt. Korean swimwear is a bit different than Western wear. Koreans also require people to wear swimming caps in the water, so I got a bright pink cap. I should have gotten a dark one because it clashes with the swimsuit. I also got a pair of pink goggles. Yes, I felt like such a dork in my swimming get-up. It didn't help that I still have marks from psoriasis on my legs. I do think that the marks should be gone within a few months.
I got in my swimwear (everyone changes in front of everyone else) and headed for the pool room. The pools were all crowded. It was nice that there were jets for us to sit near. We could hold on to some rails and let the jets massage our backs. I put the bottoms of my feet near some and let my feet get massaged.

While an undergraduate student at Andrews University I took a poetry class. I studied some of A.E. Stallings' poetry. She studied lots of classical poetry and literature of Greece. She does translation of poetry from Greek to English. An interesting thing she said was that when she was at university to study ancient, Greek poetry, she came across some poems that described early springtime flowers such as hyacinths blooming at the same time as later spring flowers. She interpreted that as a "golden age". She was later surprised when visiting the Greek countryside and finding those flowers blooming at the same time . She said that sometimes we do have to take things literally. This poem gave me the chills when I first read it. It is so deep and dark. So, I haven't been posting lately. I have been busy working on my Master's Degree in English and a Master's Certificate in Human Rights. I have been enjoying my studies overall. I have been challenged a lot by studying Chaucer this semester (hey, that guy lived six hundred years ago).  I hope to get at least a B in that class. I worked on my degree last summer, taking one class over Summer Session I and two over Summer Session II to get things done and over with.  I got an A and two A- grades.  I have been trying to stay afloat with this semester. I ended up with one late paper for Chaucer due to my factory job I had at the time and time management.  I ended up losing a letter grade, which made me upset. I decided that I have had enough of Facebook. I have been contemplating deleting my account.  I have already deleted my Twitter at least a year ago.  I also don't have Pinterest or Instagram.  I know that I use Facebook too much.
