Hip hop started in the Bronx Burroughs of New York City in the 1970s. It started as a way for people to come with issues such as racism, gender identity, national identity, and being LGBTQ. Hip hop and rap music is often about violence, as many city neighborhoods deal with a lot of violence each year. These themes reflect the lives that people lead and issues that are important to them, because these are things that they see each day, and issues that are about their identities. Hip Hop artists are now found out throughout the world because these same themes are common in other cultures besides the U.S. These other cultures deal with similar problems with ethnic discrimination, feeling marginalized, and also violence. Nigeria has a hip hop scene. Nigeria has clashes between different tribes, and also against Christians and Muslims. There is also a lot of gender discrimination with women and girls being kept from education and work in some areas. These things are an element in Nigerian hip hop music. 2. The Chilean women 3. The American music video showed a lot of gun violence. It showed how black men often wanted to live their lives peacefully and to make a decent living, yet they still dealt with violence and racism. We see black men being shot for not doing anything wrong. Even a church choir is shot at. It also shows violence when people are going about their lives. The Nigerian music video shows ethnic differences in Nigeria, with some women wearing head coverings. There we see the clashes that the ethnic groups have there. Nigeria also has violence in many areas, and it is something that people deal with on a regular basis. Both videos show a lot of how people have to deal with violence and discrimination.

    Changes in Plans

In 2019 I was hoping to attend the Horticultural Expo in Beijing.  That never happened, as I was too busy and also had to put my money into school.  I had later thought of going to South Africa and Australia to see friends I met in Korea.  That never happened, due to coronavirus and I was too busy with graduate school anyway.  I should finish this year, and that will be great.

I know that I can visit South Africa and Australia another time.  I do hope to meet up with two couples I know in Australia who live only an hour's drive apart from each other.  I am hopeful I can get there someday.  South Africa should also be interesting. Yet if I can't visit any of those places this year, I can always go another year or two from now.  Their summer is during my winter, so I know I have a lot of time before until I would want to travel there anyway.  I still have time to make plans.

I know that Qatar will have a Horticultural Expo in 2023, so I can try to attend that one.  Hopefully, the coronavirus will be over by then.  The stupid virus keeps mutating, so we will all have to see what happens.

I honestly don't know when I will be able to do international travel again. That is fine, I can see and do some things where I am.  I do not need a passport to have fun.

    My Own Foolishness

I know that ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to get married and raise a family. That has been one of my obsessions. The proble...
