Mindy



























These are photos of Mindy after I brought her home from the vet in Korea. She ended up having neurological problems and was paralyzed. They were saying it may be Feline Infectious Peritonitus (FIP) which is caused by the Corona virus.  They said she may  have been born with it.  She started the bad neurological problems on Nov. 13.  She is still living and doing better. I brought her home to the USA with me on Dec. 7 and she now walks around and drinks on her own and eats a little. I do still give her some canned food by spoon.  I have been giving her L-lysine tablets and that has been helping her.
I won't be doing animal rescue again for a while. I have been tired of the diseases and heartbreak it has caused me.  I also have enough animals to take care of right now.  I do hope Mindy keeps improving.  The vets all say that FIP is incurable, but none have been able to make a sound diagnosis of Mindy.

While an undergraduate student at Andrews University I took a poetry class. I studied some of A.E. Stallings' poetry. She studied lots of classical poetry and literature of Greece. She does translation of poetry from Greek to English. An interesting thing she said was that when she was at university to study ancient, Greek poetry, she came across some poems that described early springtime flowers such as hyacinths blooming at the same time as later spring flowers. She interpreted that as a "golden age". She was later surprised when visiting the Greek countryside and finding those flowers blooming at the same time . She said that sometimes we do have to take things literally. This poem gave me the chills when I first read it. It is so deep and dark. So, I haven't been posting lately. I have been busy working on my Master's Degree in English and a Master's Certificate in Human Rights. I have been enjoying my studies overall. I have been challenged a lot by studying Chaucer this semester (hey, that guy lived six hundred years ago).  I hope to get at least a B in that class. I worked on my degree last summer, taking one class over Summer Session I and two over Summer Session II to get things done and over with.  I got an A and two A- grades.  I have been trying to stay afloat with this semester. I ended up with one late paper for Chaucer due to my factory job I had at the time and time management.  I ended up losing a letter grade, which made me upset. I decided that I have had enough of Facebook. I have been contemplating deleting my account.  I have already deleted my Twitter at least a year ago.  I also don't have Pinterest or Instagram.  I know that I use Facebook too much.
